The reconstructed building object was built between the years 1927-1928 by Koch and Kindermann according to the plans of the architect Leo Kammel. The building’s purpose was, for the most part, a theatre and from 1991 it also functioned as a cinema. In the present day, the building has 700 visitors capacity. The theatre is a permanent part of Opavan and Silesian theatre and many other tours stop. The ministry of culture had decided in March 2003 that the theatre will become a cultural heritage.
The building could be found near the city center by the 1st class road, the direction Bruntál, and Albrechtice city. The theatre is a highlighted pedestrian line with the town hall square. The main entrance is located on the intersection of the streets E.F Burian and Mikulášská. It is a 4 story brick construction with a divided ground plan 52 x 35m. The roof of the building is a hip roof with a tower and three dormers.
