King Abdullah – Living Desert Center

The unique project Riyadh King Abdullah 2020- The living desert center which is located in the northern part of Riyadh, along the main road of King Fahed. The total area of the project is 1.5 million m2. The original, organic shape of the building is designed for this particular location which will be connected with roads, green parts, streets, and boulevards for pedestrians as well as bodies of water, a cable car which will allow us to witness the marvelous view over the area and the far center of Riyadh.

The main content of the architectural and urbanistic concepts is sports, education, exhibition, entertainment, trade, and free-time activities. All together they create a synergetic effect followed by boulevards with art pieces, water bodies, fountains, and small architectural elements, sitting areas outside and inside, small stores, coffee shops, and infinite green areas filled with exotic plants and trees.

The dominant element of the whole complex is a distinct golden caterpillar from which raises above vertical structure resembling a vibrantly colorful butterfly. On the top floor of this object was in 150 m height designed a cable car with trajectory symbolizing the flight of a butterfly above individual original constructions designed as big and small-sized flowers, waterlily in the middle of the lake, stingray swimming in the sea of green or siamese lizards sucking nectar out of the desert flowers.
