Hotel Square
Hotel Square is currently a building in the historic center of Olomouc that is made of historical part with the entrance from the upper square and the new part is connected to the Svoboda str. Architectural solutions for reconstructing the building came from the space possibilities and the given limits made by surrounding buildings considering the fact that the density of the neighborhood is quite high. Our main goal was then naturally, comfort, and so the concept contains a garden with parking and side entrance to the hotel, in the inner courtyard.
The facade of the building is divided into two main materials. At the first sight, the building´s base is defined by concrete which in contrast with the pure white plastering symbolizes a dividing element between the hotel rooms and the exterior of the hotel. The material used for the white plastering is slightly overlapping the concrete so that the two create a space illusion that distracts from the length and height of the building itself. The frontal facade, placed to the space of the historical “Horní náměstí” in Olomouc, is approached with luxury. The dignified tall parterre paneled with black marble in combination with golden decorations composes the deluxe base for the receding facade.
